Young developing adults and acne

The hormones are in full force which is very normal when a child starts to head into puberty. The surge in hormones can partly have some genetic factors but also internal health – the ability to breakdown, digest and eliminate toxins, the quality of the food consumed, enough water to flush toxins via the kidneys, the balance between progesterone, oestrogen and testosterone. The liver metabolises and detoxifies our hormones and skin health is a reflection of what is going on within the gut, liver and hormones. There are simple and effective treatment options to create harmony between the over production of androgens, improve bacterial balance and effective elimination of toxins. Skin health is important for internal health but also confidence in our young developing adults.

In more severe cases, further investigation into hormone health is an option and can be tested through urine or saliva to indicate hormone levels on day 21 of the cycle, low hormones, high / excess and how the liver is metabolising these hormones.
